MEMBER BIO: first met people in the club at the Help a Child Smile Event in Welland and started to troop with them as soon as I got my armor. Rob Appleton invited me to join them at their Storybook Gardens event and I have enjoyed helping the club ever since!

WHAT I DO IN REAL LIFE:
Owner of Southern Cross Safety. Occupational Health and Safety Trainer, Artist

MEMBER BIO:

I’ve been a fan of Star Wars since I was five years old. My first exposure to the franchise was in the form of three action figures from the original toy series, a Boba Fett, R2D2 and a C3P0, given to me after a severe accident left me hospitalized for four months. I remember seeing my first star wars film, Return of the Jedi at the drive-in when I was 7 years old, cheering on the empire from the back seat of my Grandparent’s nova. Even back then I knew the bad guys were the best.

Through my years I’ve continued to love the franchise through, the original trilogy (before the special editions and after), and the expanded universe via novels, video games and weekly round table runs of the old West End Star Wars RPG and D20 Star Wars RPG.

Participating with the Rogues has been a enjoyable transition to a new love I have for the franchise and the joy that costuming up brings to those around us.

Come and meet many of your favourite Star Wars characters at Storybook Gardens in London, Ontario. The Star Wars characters will be moving about throughout the park between 11:00am and 4:00pm. Enjoy the jedi training obstacle course, and join in on the mission to rescue Princess Leia! Children dressing in their own Star Wars costumes receive a special admission discount upon entrance. Storybook Gardens is open from 10:00am to 5:30pm.

Event is included with price of admission. All park attractions and amusement rides will be open, weather permitting. Storybook Gardens is open daily from 10:00am to 5:30pm. Ample free parking.

Making Scout Trooper Boots (Standard and Unicycle-Friendly)

Robert Appleton shows how to apply white vinyl to existing footwear to create Scout Trooper boots. He uses hiking boots for the standard Trooper version, and a pair of Airwalks for Brian’s unicycle-friendly Scout boots.

The flat soul of the airwalks are way better to use than the soul of a hiking boot when you are riding a unicycle

(We’re having an armour building party soon, so there will be another video about constructing the full suit)

Plastic paint on the white soul should allow me to color match the white strip under the vinyl to the souls of the standard souls
